Move With Less Impact

Water provides buoyancy and resistance at the same time, creating an environment where you can work on strength, mobility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness with less impact than many land-based activities.

Aquatics can be a great option for cross-training, active recovery, joint-sensitive movement, building confidence, or simply enjoying a different way to stay active.

What You May Work On

Strength

Use water resistance to challenge the upper body, lower body, and core without relying on heavy loads.

Mobility

Explore comfortable ranges of motion, flexibility, coordination, and movement with the support of the water.

Conditioning

Build cardiovascular endurance through water-based intervals, continuous movement, and low-impact conditioning.

Balance & Confidence

Use the supportive environment of the pool to challenge balance, coordination, and movement confidence.

Aquatics FAQs

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

Not necessarily. The swimming ability needed depends on the specific class and whether activities take place in shallow or deeper water. Review the class description or contact Elevate if you have questions before registering.

Is Aquatics appropriate for beginners?

Aquatics classes may include options for different experience and fitness levels. You can work at a pace that fits you and use instructor-provided modifications when appropriate.

Can I participate if I have joint pain or mobility limitations?

Water-based movement may feel more comfortable for some people because buoyancy reduces impact. However, every person's needs are different. If you have a medical condition, recent surgery, specific restrictions, or concerns about participation, please follow the guidance of your healthcare professional and contact Elevate with questions about the class.

Can I participate during pregnancy?

Some aquatics activities may be appropriate during pregnancy. Participation should be based on your individual needs, the specific class, and any guidance or restrictions provided by your healthcare professional.
