Start With the Fundamentals

Mat ABC introduces three foundational Pilates principles: Alignment, Breath, and Control.

The class uses low-impact, mat-based movement to develop postural awareness, functional stability, mobility, and coordinated strength for everyday life, recreation, and sport.

The pace is intentionally approachable, with time to learn movement patterns, practice technique, and build confidence.

The ABCs of Pilates

Mat ABC uses three simple principles to help guide the way you move.

Alignment

Develop awareness of posture, positioning, and how different parts of the body work together.

Breath

Use breathing to support movement, timing, focus, and trunk coordination.

Control

Practice moving with intention, stability, and attention to movement quality.

What You'll Work On

Core Stability

Build coordinated strength through the trunk and hips to support everyday movement.

Postural Awareness

Practice noticing and adjusting alignment through different positions and movements.

Mobility

Explore controlled, comfortable movement through the spine, hips, and shoulders.

Floor Mobility

Practice strategies for getting down to and up from the floor with greater confidence.

Mat ABC is designed to be approachable for a range of ages, experience levels, and movement goals.

Floor Access Is Part of the Class

The goal is not speed or perfection. Instead, participants can work on safe, practical strategies for floor mobility within the group setting.

If getting to or from the floor requires significant physical assistance, contact Elevate before registering to discuss whether the class is a good fit.
