CARE Caregiver Community Circle

Caring for Someone Else Can Change Your Life Too

Caregiving can be meaningful, loving, and deeply important.

It can also bring fatigue, stress, changing roles, difficult decisions, financial or logistical demands, grief, and less time for your own needs.

CARE offers a welcoming place to connect with others who understand some of those experiences and to explore practical ways to support yourself while continuing to care for others.

Who Is CARE For?

CARE welcomes adults providing sustained care, support, or advocacy for another person.

Family Caregivers

For people supporting a spouse, partner, parent, child, sibling, or other family member.

Friends & Chosen Family

For people providing meaningful ongoing support outside a traditional family relationship.

Care Partners

For those helping someone navigate chronic illness, disability, aging, recovery, or changing health needs.

People in Long-Term Support Roles

For adults whose caregiving role has become a significant part of everyday life.

Join When You Need It

CARE is designed as an open Community Circle.

You do not need to attend every meeting or begin at a particular point.

Participants may join when a topic, conversation, or opportunity for connection feels useful and return as often as they choose.

There is no expectation that everyone share. Listening and simply being present are welcome ways to participate.

What to Expect

CARE combines peer connection, guided reflection, general education, and practical conversation about caregiving.

Connect

Spend time with others who understand the responsibilities, uncertainty, and emotional weight of caregiving.

Reflect

Explore changing roles, expectations, boundaries, relationships, and your own needs and values.

Learn

Discuss practical topics related to caregiving, communication, resources, stress, and wellbeing.

Support

Share encouragement and perspective without pressure to solve another caregiver's situation.

Topics We May Explore

Meeting themes may change based on participant interests, community needs, and available guest speakers or resources.

Caregiver Stress & Fatigue

Explore the impact of ongoing responsibility, limited time, sleep disruption, and emotional load.

Boundaries

Discuss what is yours to carry, what support you may need, and how boundaries can change over time.

Guilt & Self-Compassion

Explore unrealistic expectations, self-judgment, and ways to respond to yourself with greater compassion.

Changing Roles & Relationships

Talk about how caregiving can change partnerships, family roles, independence, and identity.

Grief & Ambiguous Loss

Make space for grief that may occur alongside caregiving, including changes that happen before a death.

Advocacy & Systems

Discuss communication, appointments, care coordination, resources, and navigating complex systems.

Resilience & Recovery

Explore small, realistic ways to support rest, recovery, connection, and personal wellbeing.

Asking for Help

Talk about delegating, accepting support, communicating needs, and building a wider circle of care.

Identity Beyond Caregiving

Reconnect with relationships, interests, roles, and parts of yourself outside the caregiving role.

A Typical CARE Gathering

The exact flow may vary, but meetings often include a combination of reflection, education, conversation, and resource sharing.

Arrive & Connect

Settle in, review group expectations, and connect with the circle.

Explore a Topic

Discuss a caregiving theme through brief education, reflection, a guest speaker, or facilitated conversation.

Share & Close

Share experiences if you choose, exchange resources, and identify ideas or supports that may be useful after the meeting.

A Circle Built on Choice & Respect

CARE recognizes that every caregiving situation is different.

Participants are invited to share their own experiences without assuming that another person should make the same decisions.

You may talk, listen, pass on a discussion, or step out when needed.

The goal is not to judge how someone cares for another person. It is to create space for understanding, connection, and practical support.

A Respectful Community Space

CARE is intended to be welcoming, respectful, and supportive.

Participants are encouraged to respect the privacy of others and not share personal stories or identifying information outside the group without permission.

Because CARE is a community gathering rather than a private clinical encounter, share only what you are comfortable discussing in a group setting.

When talking about someone you care for, consider protecting their privacy as well as your own.

Community Support, Not Individual Treatment

CARE is a community wellness, education, and peer-support offering.

It is not psychotherapy, behavioral health treatment, case management, legal advice, medical care, or an individualized caregiving consultation.

Meetings may include general information about resources or navigating care, but individual medical, legal, financial, or behavioral health questions should be addressed with the appropriate professional.
