Ongoing pain can influence movement, sleep, energy, work, relationships, confidence, and the way people approach daily activity.
THRIVE offers a practical, supportive place to learn about the experience of pain and explore skills that may help with pacing, movement, stress, confidence, and participation in everyday life.
The goal is not to promise a cure or eliminate every symptom. It is to build understanding, options, and practical tools for moving forward.
THRIVE is designed for adults living with persistent or recurring pain experiences.
For people living with ongoing musculoskeletal pain, headaches, tension, or other long-standing symptoms.
For people who continue to experience pain after an injury, procedure, or expected healing period.
For people who feel stuck between wanting to stay active and worrying about symptoms, flare-ups, or movement.
THRIVE is designed as an open Community Circle.
You do not need to attend every meeting or begin with a particular topic.
Participants may join when a session, skill, or discussion feels useful and return as often as they choose.
There is no expectation that everyone share personal details. Listening and simply being present are welcome ways to participate.
THRIVE combines pain education, practical skills, gentle experiential activities, and supportive conversation.
Learn more about how pain can be influenced by the nervous system, stress, context, movement, and past experiences.
Try simple skills related to pacing, movement, breathing, attention, and everyday activity.
Notice patterns around pain, stress, activity, avoidance, confidence, and daily routines.
Share experiences, learn from others, and participate in a community that understands the burden of ongoing pain.
Meeting topics may change based on participant interests and the needs of the group.
Explore why pain can persist, why symptoms may change from day to day, and why pain does not always match tissue damage in a simple way.
Explore ways to balance activity and recovery without relying only on pushing through or avoiding activity.
Practice approaching movement gradually and building confidence around activities that may feel challenging or uncertain.
Explore the relationship between stress, attention, arousal, and the pain experience, along with simple regulation strategies.
Develop practical ways to respond when symptoms increase without assuming that every flare means new harm.
Consider how to stay connected with activities, roles, relationships, and goals that matter even when symptoms are present.
The exact flow may vary, but sessions often include education, practice, reflection, and conversation.
Explore a practical concept related to pain, movement, stress, pacing, or daily activity.
Practice a simple skill, reflection, movement, or regulation strategy that can be adapted to your comfort level.
Discuss what you noticed, share experiences if you choose, and identify small ideas to experiment with between meetings.
Some THRIVE meetings may include gentle movement, breathing, attention exercises, guided reflection, or other experiential activities.
These activities are intended for learning and exploration, not as a test or requirement.
You may participate, modify, observe, or pass based on what feels appropriate for you.
THRIVE meetings may be facilitated by appropriately qualified members of the Mammoth Hospital or Elevate team or by other professionals with relevant experience in persistent pain, movement, wellness, or behavior-change approaches.
Guest speakers may also join selected meetings when their expertise fits the topic being explored.
Facilitators and topics may vary from meeting to meeting.
THRIVE is a community wellness, education, and peer-support offering.
It is not an individualized medical evaluation, physical therapy treatment, behavioral health treatment, pain-management consultation, or substitute for care from your healthcare team.
If you have new or rapidly worsening pain, new neurologic symptoms, recent trauma, recent surgery, or another significant change in your health, seek appropriate medical guidance rather than relying on a community group.
THRIVE is intended to be supportive, nonjudgmental, and practical.
Participants are encouraged to respect the privacy of others and avoid comparing, ranking, or dismissing another person's pain experience.
Because THRIVE is a community gathering rather than a private clinical encounter, share only what you are comfortable discussing in a group setting.
THRIVE is offered periodically throughout the year.
