Access Mammoth + Elevate

Adaptive Recreation, Wellness & Community Connection

Supporting participation, wellbeing, and connection on and off the mountain.

Elevate partners with Access Mammoth to bring wellness education, movement, recovery, and practical health resources into adaptive recreation experiences.

Our work together has included programming during Access Mammoth's military sports camps and women's camps, with opportunities to continue building connections between adaptive recreation and year-round community wellness.

Wellness That Supports Participation

Adaptive recreation creates opportunities for people to move, explore, compete, connect, and experience the Eastern Sierra in meaningful ways.

Elevate's partnership with Access Mammoth adds another layer to those experiences through wellness education, movement, recovery, and practical tools participants can use during camp and beyond.

The partnership reflects a shared belief that health and wellbeing should support participation in life, sport, community, and the activities that matter to each individual.

How We Work Together

Elevate programming may vary by camp, season, and participant needs, but our collaboration has included several areas of wellness support.

Wellness Workshops

Interactive education designed to complement recreation, sport, recovery, and everyday wellbeing.

Movement & Recovery

Practical strategies around movement, mobility, recovery, and preparing for active days.

Health Education

Accessible information and conversations that support participants in making informed wellness choices.

Community Connection

Helping participants discover Elevate resources that remain available beyond a single camp or event.

MILITARY SPORTS CAMPS

Supporting Operation Mountain Freedom & Operation High Altitude

Elevate has partnered with Access Mammoth during its military sports camps, including Operation Mountain Freedom and Operation High Altitude.

These experiences bring participants to the Eastern Sierra for adaptive sport, recreation, community, and time in the mountains.

Elevate complements the camp experience with wellness workshops designed to offer practical information and tools that participants can carry into recreation, training, recovery, and daily life.

Wellness Alongside Adventure

Camp programming can create natural opportunities to talk about the many factors that support an active life.

Discuss rest, recovery, pacing, mobility, and ways to respond to physically demanding days.

Strength & Conditioning

Explore general principles for building strength, endurance, balance, and physical capacity.

Community Resources

Learn about Elevate, local wellness opportunities, and other resources available during and beyond the camp experience.

WOMEN'S WEEKEND CAMPS

Wellness, Connection & Time Outside

Elevate has also provided wellness programming during Access Mammoth's Women's Weekend Camps.

These workshops complement adaptive recreation with opportunities to reflect, learn, move, and explore practical strategies for personal wellbeing.

Programming may change from one camp to another and can be shaped around the interests and needs of participants.

The Camp Can Be the Beginning

Our partnership does not have to end when the camp does.

Elevate is a community wellness space in Mammoth Lakes, and many of our programs are open to people with different abilities, experience levels, and ways of participating.

If you first met the Elevate team through Access Mammoth, we hope you will continue exploring the resources, classes, groups, and opportunities available here.

BEYOND THE CAMP

The Adaptive Community Is Welcome at Elevate

You do not need to be attending an Access Mammoth camp to participate at Elevate.

Our goal is to make health, movement, wellness, and community more accessible to people with different abilities throughout the year.

Some activities may require individual discussion or modification depending on the program, space, equipment, and participant needs.

If you are unsure whether an offering will work for you, contact us. We would rather start a conversation than have you assume you cannot participate.

Explore Our Gym & Movement Space

Elevate's Mammoth location includes space for movement, fitness, performance, education, and community programming.

Adaptive participants may use Elevate through scheduled classes, workshops, appointments, or other programs depending on their goals and the offering.

Because accessibility needs are individual, we encourage participants to contact us if they have questions about equipment, transfers, mobility, space, or how a particular program is structured.

Wellness Classes

Elevate offers group movement and wellness classes throughout the year.

Depending on the class, participants may find opportunities for strength, mobility, balance, mind-body practice, recovery, and social connection.

Not every class will be appropriate for every person, and the types of modifications available can vary.

Contact Elevate if you would like help identifying current classes that may fit your interests and participation needs.

Community Is Part of Wellness

Elevate's Community Circles create free opportunities for connection, peer support, education, and shared experience.

These groups are organized around different health, life, and community experiences and are open to eligible participants whether or not they participate in other Elevate programs.

Current Community Circles may include groups focused on caregiving, grief, multiple sclerosis, persistent pain, Parkinson's disease, cancer, diabetes, family-building, recovery, and other community needs.

Accessibility Starts With a Conversation

Disability and adaptive participation are not one-size-fits-all.

People may have different mobility, sensory, communication, equipment, transfer, fatigue, or support needs.

Rather than assuming what someone can or cannot do, we encourage participants to tell us what would help them engage successfully in a particular program.

Some modifications may be possible within a group setting, while other needs may be better matched with another Elevate offering or resource.

Talk With Elevate

Community Wellness, Not Rehabilitation

Elevate's community wellness and adaptive programs are distinct from individualized physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical rehabilitation, or other clinical care.

A disability does not automatically mean someone requires a rehabilitation service to participate in wellness.

At the same time, participants with new injuries, recent surgery, significant changes in health, or individualized clinical needs should follow the guidance of their healthcare team and use appropriate clinical services when needed.

Partnership Creates More Ways to Participate

Access Mammoth creates adaptive sport and recreation experiences.

Elevate brings community wellness, health education, movement, recovery, and connection.

Together, the partnership can help participants move between recreation, wellness, community, and everyday life rather than treating each as a separate experience.
