Why is CARE Caregiver Group beneficial?

Caregiving can be deeply rewarding, but it can also bring emotional strain, fatigue, shifting roles, and difficult decisions. CARE Caregiver Group offers a confidential space to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of caring for someone else while managing your own responsibilities, relationships, and wellbeing.

Who should participate in CARE Caregiver Group?

CARE Caregiver Group is an open peer support group for individuals who are caring for others in meaningful and sustained ways. This may include supporting an aging parent or spouse, caring for a loved one with chronic illness or disability, or providing care professionally as a healthcare worker or first responder.  Participants may join at any time and regular participation is not required.

What should I expect during CARE Caregiver Group?

Through guided discussion and shared reflection, participants will have the opportunity to explore topics such as burnout, boundaries, guilt, grief, self-compassion, navigating complex systems, and maintaining personal resilience over time.

Group sessions typically include: 

  • Welcome & introductions (5 minutes)
  • Group guidelines & grounding (5-10 minutes)
  • Education/guest speaker/themed topic (15-20 minutes)
  • Group discussion & sharing (20-30 minutes)
  • Resource sharing & announcements (5 minutes)
  • Closing ritual & wrap-up

When is CARE Caregiver Group offered?

CARE Caregiver Group is offered monthly, typically Thursday from 11:00AM-12:00PM, while our PWR! Parkinson Wellness Recovery group is in session.

Where is CARE Caregiver Group held?

CARE Caregiver Group is held in our Mammoth location (121 College Pkwy, Mammoth Lakes, CA) in the 2nd floor study of the South Gateway Apartments.  The group facilitator may greet you in the lobby and escort you upstairs, or you can follow signage to the upstairs study.

How much does CARE Caregiver Group cost?

CARE Caregiver Group is a free support group.

What are the requirements of or limitations to participation in CARE Caregiver Group?

CARE Caregiver Group is free and open to all adult participants 18 years of age and older. 

What is the cancellation policy for CARE Caregiver Group?

Please sign up early and notify us of plan changes early! We want to make the most of our valuable resources, and group sessions with no enrollment a minimum of 12 hours prior to start time are subject to cancellation. Your participation helps dictate where we direct our team’s time and attention. Thank you for your assistance on this matter.

You should receive a confirmation email with group details upon successful sign up. (Please be sure to opt into scheduling and reminder emails as this is how we will notify you of cancellations and schedule changes as well).
