Why is THRIVE Pain Skills Group beneficial?

THRIVE Pain Skills Group is a supportive, practical group for anyone living with ongoing pain, tension, headaches, fatigue, or movement fear. This group focuses on building real-life tools rather than chasing a cure, helping participants develop the confidence and clarity needed to live well even when symptoms persist.

Who should participate in THRIVE Pain Skills Group?

THRIVE Pain Skills Group is appropriate for adults with chronic musculoskeletal pain, headaches, sensitization-type symptoms, post-injury or post-surgical pain, or anyone feeling stuck in a cycle of pain and avoidance.

If you’re looking for a grounded, evidence-based way to understand your pain and move forward with more confidence and ease, THRIVE offers a welcoming place to begin.

What should I expect during THRIVE Pain Skills Group?

Led by a physical therapist trained in pain neuroscience and psychologically informed approaches, THRIVE Pain Skills Group blends simple education, gentle movement, and mind-body strategies that calm an overprotective nervous system. Each session offers:

  • Insight into how pain works and why it can become amplified
  • Skills for regulating stress, pacing activity, and returning to valued movement
  • Support and validation through guided group discussion
  • Empowerment to make small, meaningful changes that improve daily life
Participants learn to shift unhelpful pain patterns, reduce fear and frustration, and build habits that support resilience and well-being.
