Safe Sitter

Safe Sitter® Essentials with CPR is a comprehensive one-day course designed to prepare students in grades 6–8 to stay safe, care for children responsibly, and respond confidently in emergencies. Throughout the 6.5-hour class, students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and handle dangers such as power failures and weather emergencies. They also gain practical child care skills, including understanding ages and stages of development, managing behavior, and practicing diapering.

The course includes first aid and rescue training, teaching students how to assess and respond to injuries and illnesses, perform choking rescue, and provide CPR. In addition, students develop life and business skills such as screening babysitting jobs, discussing fees, and professionally greeting employers.

The class is offered quarterly on select Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at Elevate Mammoth in Mammoth Lakes, CA. The cost is $75 per student and includes a Safe Sitter® Student Handbook and course completion card. Class size is limited to an 8:1 student-to-instructor ratio. Registration must be completed under a parent or guardian account, with consent required, and families will receive confirmation and scheduling updates by email.
