The Bridge Program

The Bridge Program is for late/post-rehabilitation individuals seeking affordable and cost-effective professional guidance in a supportive team atmosphere to enhance physical performance for confident achievement of Return-To-Sport testing standards and ultimately safe return to sport or activity.

Train with Mammoth Hospital athletic trainer and strength & conditioning specialist Zack Smitheman to optimally bridge your journey from rehabilitation back to sport.

For full, safe participation in The Bridge Program, participants should have nearly full range of motion, good mechanics, minimal pain, and no restrictions for weightbearing. Individuals who have had ligament reconstruction surgeries should be approximately 4 or more months post-op, and recommendation from an individual's physician or physical therapist is encouraged but not required for participation.

The Bridge Program

  • Lower Body & Core Bridge

Lower Body Bridge may be particularly beneficial for athletes returning to agility and impact sports following individual rehabilitation for lower extremity injuries/surgeries.

Squatting, step-up/down, lunging, hopping, jumping, single leg stability, proprioception, balance, agility, and jogging activities help participants develop foot, ankle, knee, hip, and core neuromuscular control, strength, and power in variable planes of motion with different bases of support, speeds, and tempos to prepare for return to the high demands of sport and activity.

  • Upper Body & Core Bridge

Upper Body Bridge may be particularly beneficial for overhead athletes following individual rehabilitation for upper extremity injuries/surgeries.

Weightbearing stability, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gripping, and throwing activities develop hand, forearm/arm, shoulder, mid/upper-back, and neck conditioning and stamina, strength, and power in variable planes of motion to prepare participants for return to the high demands of sport and activity.
