Heart & Sole Walking Club
-
Regular movement and exercise, even as gentle as walking, may reduce your risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and some cancers. Walking 30 minutes every day can increase or maintain cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle strength and endurance. Walking outdoors and in a group may also have mental and social benefits including improved mood and sleep, increased safety, and greater motivation and adherence to a regular exercise program.
-
Heart & Sole Walking Club is a community-centered program designed to support physical, mental, and social well-being through the simple, powerful act of walking. Group walks are led by Mammoth Hospital Behavioral Health Assistant Alwyne Butler, and routes on the town's multi-use pathways leaving from Elevate are designed to be accessible, safe, and enjoyable. Walkers benefit from light physical activity, uplifting conversation, and the emotional support of a shared experience.
