THRIVE Pain Skills Circle

Tools for Health, Resilience, Insight, Validation & Empowerment

  • THRIVE Pain Skills Circle is a supportive, practical skills group for anyone living with ongoing pain, tension, headaches, fatigue, or movement fear. This group focuses on building real-life tools rather than chasing a cure, helping participants develop the confidence and clarity needed to live well even when symptoms persist.

  • THRIVE is appropriate for adults with chronic musculoskeletal pain, headaches, sensitization-type symptoms, post-injury or post-surgical pain, or anyone feeling stuck in a cycle of pain and avoidance.

If you’re looking for a grounded, evidence-based way to understand your pain and move forward with more confidence and ease, THRIVE offers a welcoming place to begin.

  • Led by a physical therapist trained in pain neuroscience and psychologically informed approaches, THRIVE blends simple education, gentle movement, and mind-body strategies that calm an overprotective nervous system. Sessions offer:

    • Insight into how pain works and why it can become amplified

    • Skills for regulating stress, pacing activity, and returning to valued movement

    • Support and validation through guided group discussion

    • Empowerment to make small, meaningful changes that improve daily life

Participants learn to shift unhelpful pain patterns, reduce fear and frustration, and build habits that support resilience and well-being.

  • THRIVE is offered monthly, typically the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 12:00PM-1:00PM.

  • THRIVE Pain Skills Circle is held in our Mammoth location (121 College Pkwy, Mammoth Lakes, CA) in the upstairs study of the South Gateway Apartments.

  • Free - $0

  • Requirements: A willingness to learn, try simple skills, and participate in a supportive group setting.
Limitations: THRIVE Pain Skills Circle is educational and experiential, not a substitute for individual medical, physical therapy, or behavioral health care.
