Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Heartsaver courses cover critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives including:

  • First aid basics

  • Medical emergencies

  • Injury emergencies

  • Environmental emergencies

  • Preventing illness and injury

  • Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies.

  • Adult CPR and AED use

  • Child CPR and AED use

  • Infant CPR

  • Regulatory Requirements

Heartsaver courses do not cover requirements of a healthcare provider BLS course. Heartsaver courses are often completed by those who need a course completion card for their job or regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA).

  • Community Preparedness

Participants younger than 18 need parental consent, and participants younger than 15 must be accompanied by an attending adult for Heartsaver courses. Participants younger than 13, please check out our Safe Sitter Essentials with CPR classes for more age-appropriate learning options.

  • Small Group Format

Heartsaver workshop and team reservations maintain a 1 instructor: 6 students ratio. Workshops and team reservations should have a minimum of 3 participants. Team reservations are offered for a flat rate, so teams are encouraged to fill vacancies to maintain cost-effectiveness.

  • Hands-On Learning

This American Heart Association course uses a research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
