Yoga for Pelvic Health

Join Mammoth Hospital physical therapist assistant Katie Sheehan in these on-demand videos that guide participants in incorporating pelvic floor activation and release into a new or existing yoga and core practice. *If you have pelvic floor pain, ask your physician if a pelvic health physical therapy referral is appropriate for you, and contact Mammoth Hospital’s Physical Therapy Team (760-934-7302).

  • Diaphragm & Pelvic Floor Synergy

This gentle flow focuses on the cooperative relationship between the breathing diaphragm and the pelvic floor. Slow transitions and supported postures help access the parasympathetic nervous system (aka "rest and digest') and facilitates release of muscles commonly weak and tight in pelvic floor dysfunction.

  • No-Sit Flow for Release, Activation, and Breathing Synergy

Sitting can be uncomfortable due to tailbone, hip or pelvic floor pain. This more active flow avoids sitting and focuses on both release and activation of the pelvic floor muscles, legs, and side body.
